Pets at Home Insurance change to policy

Hi Allianz are now managing the Pets at Home Insurance, since my pets last renewal in Jan and today I received a letter telling me that my Insurance Product Information Document was incorrect.
Old wording: 'How your premium can change - your pets age, increasing veterinary costs and advancements in veterinary medicine can all affect the premium you pay. These mean your premium will increase over the lifetime of your policy. HOWEVER, WE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR PREMIUM AS A DIRECT RESULT OF ANY CLAIM YOU MAKE.'
New wording: 'how your premium can change - there are a number of factors that impact your premium, such as your pet's age, increasing veterinary costs, advancements in veterinary medicine AND IF YOU CLAIM. These mean your premium will increase over the lifetime of your policy.
Letter went on to say that because of this documentation error, it was not clear that the factors impacting my renewal premium include any claims made.
Obviously because my 7 yr old Deerhound is now on monthly anti inflammatory medication I'm now dreading the renewal premium in January. By the way I have been with Pets at Home for over 7 years using the Premier plan,
Surely terms can not just be changed like that. I understand new customers being made aware of this but as you know it is almost impossible to change insurance companies if your pet has an existing condition.
Am I being unreasonable in thinking this is unacceptable? Any thoughts gratefully received.
Thanks so much

Read your policy document.
I t probably says that the policy is an annual policy renewed each year and terms and conditions can change at renewal.0 -
Thanks, just checked and it does say changes can be made at renewal 😒. I guess you're in their hands when you sign up. On a positive note the insurer emailed me and offered a 10% reduction on this year's premium so it was worth querying them.0

I wouldn't worry too much, Allianz are the underwriters for PetPlan and Coop which is who my giant breed is insured with.
In the 3 years I've had my dog there is only 1 year I didn't claim the full £5k vets fees - that year I only claimed £2.5k for ongoing meds. As a 6 yr old, his premium is now £44 per month. Not too bad really
