UKPC Ticket - Advice Please
DAngel
Hi All,
Background: already in a legal battle with UKPC regarding a different vehicle. This thread is regarding a new matter:
A windscreen ticket was left on the vehicle last week whilst it was parked on the end of a layby (front wheels in the layby, back wheel on the kerb to ensure car did not stick out into the road).
Vehicle was parked on a residential road - patrolled by UKPC
I have spoken to the MA to confirm the parameters under which UKPC have been instructed as was under the impression they were only patrolling "the yellow lines, anyone parked on the kerbs etc but not inside the laybys".
MA has confirmed, "UKPC do not patrol the laybys, they are only supposed to ticket cars on the yellow lines or kerbs, or sticking out of the bay onto the yellow lines".
MA has offered to speak to UKPC about this - however would prefer to seek advice here first.
Questions -
I know DVLA have lifted the UKPC Ban now, so do i go ahead with advice on post #1 on Newbies? Even though currently already at Court stage in another dispute with UKPC?
Do i get the MA to investigate this? This would require sharing vehicle registration with them (not keen to do so).
Advice appreciated. Many thanks.

If this goes to court be sure to bring this to the attention of the judge.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Complain to the landowner or MA first. If it is not cancelled by day 26 then appeal as per the blue template in the NEWBIES.
If you are a resident at the site, what does (or doesn't) your lease/AST say about parking.
There is no read across from one to the other at the moment. There could be later if this was at the same place as the first.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Thanks Fruitcake. Trying to keep post as ambiguous as poss at the moment for obvious reasons.
I will complain to MA as a first step - they already offered to help, so worth seeing if they can get it cancelled.
And in terms of the other case - i can confirm it's the same place as the first.0 -
News just in, I emailed the MA to ask for the ticket to be cancelled and was met with a reply that said they had contacted UKPC and this is the response they got:“ I can confirm the parking charge has been correctly issued, if you’d like further information please can you ask the driver to provide written consent stating their name, vehicle registration and also stating that they authorise UKPC to discuss their parking charge with you.”
Laughable really - I guess appeals is next?0 -
Hi all, bumping this for next steps - it's been well over 60 days now since i submitted my appeal and i've not received a response.
Where do i stand with this?0 -
Hi all, I recently won my other case but still have this subsequent ticket looming.
i appealed, I heard nothing back, I’ve since had a phoney debt management letter, I’ve also moved house, and I no longer own the car in question.Any steer on this? Should I notify of change of address? What’s the advice when they don’t respond to the appeal?Thanks!0 -
Yes of course you notify of change of address. Simple ADDRESS FOR SERVICE IS... and ERASE my old address ...
Were you checking junk email?2 -
OK if you appealed in time on day 26 and got no rejection/POPLA code, then complain to Gemma Dorans at the BPA:
gemma.d@britishparking.co.ukPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
