It's a long time since I used to work this sort of stuff out
It's a 30cm strip with 12x 3528 LED's.
Battery pack 3xAA.
What sort of battery life could I expect if left on continuously?

That would very much depend on the type of batteries you use. Zinc Carbon, Alkaline, Lithium or rechargeable etc.
Some batteries are better at low drain rates and some are better at high drain rates.
Some batteries have more stored power, measured in mAh (milliamp hours) than others.
The larger the mAh rating the longer they should last in theory.
Can you replace the battery pack with a 4.5 volt mains power adaptor? That would probably be the best and cheapest long term solution.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -

Thanks. What if the batteries were, say, 2500mAh each?0 -

That is impossible to say without knowing the power consumption of the LEDs and I couldn't see that in the details in your link.
It uses 12 x SMD 3528 LEDs. If you google the power consumption of those you might be able to get an idea.A man walked into a car showroom.

The strip information does not mention the power consumption. Without that you wont know how long the batteries will last.
3528's are not that bright, depends on the space you need to light up and how bright you need it to be.
I would not pay £8.75 for that though. You can get a 5 meter reel of the lights for a couple of £. Battery box 99p or so.
With good quality batteries it may last 6 hours at full brightness before they start to dim. But you need honest answers from the seller to how much power they draw.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
