That's quite small. Omron state their cuffs are suitable for arms 22-42cm. You can buy a small cuff (17-22cm) but this is just a standard type of cuff. The standard style of cuffs can only be used on the following M2 basic, M2 and M3 monitors.
Having measured again I would say it is more like 21cm, so only just under the specified minimum diameter of 22cm.

Are Omron stating the size of the arm's circumference or diameter?

It would be the circumference, I think the OP is confusing circumference with diameter, after all how would you measure the diameter of your arm ;)

Where exactly are you measuring, even 21cm is very small for an adult upper arm?

Yep sorry, obviously meant circumference, typing quicker than thinking.

i have the omron m3 comfort which seems to work well but the only annoyance is that the cuff airline gets in the way of the velcro grip area - someone with fatter arms than me might be ok though
  • I have an Omron M10-IT which cost me around £45 from Amazon in March 2011. I have the Amazon receipt inside the manual so that I know when it was purchased.

Omron make the best BP meters and you cannot go far wrong with an Omron IMO.

Thanks for the advice and opinions. However at the moment I am undecided between the Braun Exactfit 3, which comes with an additional smaller cuff, or the Omron M6, which says it is suitable for arm circumference 22-42cm but the person is only around 20-21cm.

    Edit:
Just had a reply from Omron and according to them the M6 Comfort would not be suitable for a person with an arm this small.

    Edit2:
Just discovered that the Braun is not suitable for anyone with an arm circumference of less that 22cm either.
So back to square one again.

Then as mentioned, get an Omron M3 and buy the separate small cuff. Practically all manufacturer's standard cuffs start at 22cm.
