Claiming for liquid damaged computer using contents

Hello guys brand new here and sorry for any bad grammar as I'm typing this on my phone.

Basically I'm just curious at the likely procedure the insurance company will take on my pc claim.

I spilled beer all over the top of it, it's all over the motherboard, ram graphics card. Doesn't work at all.

They have accepted my accidental damage claim thank god.

They have requested their tech guys to pick it up greenbridge technology in Liverpool (their reviews are horrible) I'm worried they will try and repair it even tho liquid damage should bassiclly write the pc off, are they likely to do this and give me a cheque for the amount or will they build me a new pc (custom built it my self)
I've also wrote down all serial codes on all parts incase they try and pull a fast one and say they have replaced something when they haven't. I bought the parts to build my pc in April and it cost me 2200.

Like I said what is likely to be the route they will take in this case and any idea how long this is likely to take?

Thanks again guys!

  • I'm also worried they won't replace like for like and give me worse components.

What does your T+C say about replacing accidental damaged items? We can't read it from here?
"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

  • If it can't be repaired then replaced like for like.
  • I can't edit but after reading it they basically said they will do what ever they want. They give a ton of routes they can take, but giving me a cheque isn't one of them. Replace as new, pay for the repair, pay for the cost of replacing as new
