I take it that you now have an alternative bank acount.

Hi ejones999, yes I haven't used that account since the fraud took place in Feb 2005!

Well done MSErs on the advice also, give yourselves a pat on the back.

Absolutely, thank you all very much :T
  • So who says the "little men" don't have a chance of winning! I'm so glad RBS have belatedly done the right thing - maybe there's hope yet that this country can regain a sense of integrity.....:A
  • Just an update, now had a letter from Customer Relations confirming they have closed my account after zero-ing my outstanding overdraft and removed any related entries on my credit report.
I've still to see this reflected on my credit report, but I guess that isn't an overnight process is it?

Blimey, have just seen this thread!

You must have exemplary patience to have waited nearly three years. I think I'd have handed to my solicitor after about three weeks! :j

  • Hi C32AMG

Patience, Head in the Sand and Not knowing my rights all played a part.

Finding MSE did me wonders, and gave me the confidence to take on the bank eventually.

Plus being a Yorkshireman I'm too tight to pay for a solicitor!! :p

Final post from me on this thread.
RBS have now removed all entries on my Credit Report.
This has seen my CallCredit raise by just over 100 points. My Experian and Equifax have not changed. (I know points don't mean anything, but a useful indicator in this case I think?)
Just blumming Capital One (c/o Lowell) to sort out and I should be getting my first mortgage this year!

I trust now you will complain as I do about the use of "mothers maiden name". It would take me (or anyone else) about 5 minutes to find this information, 1 minute if you were born after 1984.

Its about time this "Security question" was scrapped.
