Discrepancy in Home Insurance Quotes

I used compare the market and got buildings and contents insurance for £147.00 for a 3 bed house. Added absolutely everything from accidental insurance to emergency cover, free legal thrown in. Hastings offered me renewal at £360 so very happy. Decided to go onto the insurer's website via top cash back. No frills offered for me to tick so offered basic cover at £350.00.

Hell of a discrepancy - anyone know why?

As we cannot see what you entered, it is difficult to say with any certainty.

Personally I don't like comparison sites, as often the cheapest quotes have plenty of hidden terms which you may or may not find acceptable. E.g. Restrictions in cover, minimum terms on security such as locks on doors.

Check the policy wording which there should be link provided and all terms/conditions. Check all assumptions used for quoting. Check exactly what you entered, personal derails, type of property, age of property etc and all of the questions you answered.

If you are satisfied with the policy and everything you entered is 100% correct, then it is up to you.

If you needed to claim, are you confident that this company has a track record of providing a good service. ( I would not recommend any Insurance underwriter registered in Gibraltar).
