Can anyone please suggest the cheapest place to register domain names?
I don't need any hosting package as my ISP provides sufficient facilities for this. I just want to pay the minimum to obtain an appropriate .co.uk domain name.
I've found around £4 pa but there must be better deals than that?

I use https://www.strato-hosting.co.uk £2.5/year. but it's rubbish! so avoid it.
https://www.freedomain.co.nr have free domains. you place a link on your page to them.0 -
I use 123 http://www.123-reg.co.uk/
2.59 PA + VAT
easy to use, includes e-mail forwarding as well
Used them for domain name for years without problems, but have read the hosting can be flakey but as OP does not hosting then 123 is ideal IMOWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -

Your complaining that £4 is too much?
Make sure with cheap providers that you can transfer it to your existing hosting.0 -
Another vote for 123-reg here, use them all the time, they are owned by Pipex and have a great control panel too.
PS Also have some hosting packages with them, and never had problems either.0 -
If you dont want to do anything really fancy with your website try Microsoft Office Live here :- http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/default.aspx?xid=c2logo
They offer free hosting for .co.uk names and if you just take their basic package you pay no extra. You do have to register a credit/debit card for security though.
The site allows you quite a bit of storage so if you want to do a small business site with minimum outlay it gives the opportunity to get it going.0 -
I think I paid about £11 for my .coms inc vat, I know .co.uk's are cheaper but £4 is worth grabbing. There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0
