If you haven't checked out the prices of RAM lately then now seems to be a good time!
I just maxed out my laptop to 2GB for a mere £31.71 (this was from Crucial)
The performance boost from my previous 512MB is way more than I imagined it would be and the price is lower than I've ever seen - when I bought the laptop about 9 months ago it would have cost almost £200 to add that amount of RAM.
