What colour door with rosewood windows?

We are having a new door fitted that we can paint. We have rosewood window frames. What colour door would go well with this? I'm really not keen on rosewood lol. The door is an oak cottage style.

Black, white, red, blue, yellow, green. All colours will go. It's your choice.

Shame to paint it IMO if it is a real solid oak door.

Why not stain it darker, more like the "rosewood"? Use something like Sadolin.

Should last longer and be easier to maintain than paint.

Oh does that protect the door?

I like the oak colour of the door but my husband said it wouldn't go with rosewood windows. I hate rosewood lol.

The obvious answer is to clear varnish the oak front door and (in the near-ish future/ as early maintenance) paint out the rosewood window frames.

Thanks I've suggested this to hubby but hes worried an oak door and porch frame would look odd with rosewood windows and we have no desire to change the windows anytime soon. I really want to have the door oak but he's saying it wont go lol. Of course this is the man who thinks if you paint a room grey, everything in it has to be grey, you cant have other colours with the colour you paint it. It's the room of grey, or pink, or white... he has no clue lol.

Just leave it oak then if that's what you prefer. You can always change the colour further down the road once you've lived with it a bit.

We have rosewood frames and door due to covenants on the street...not my choice of colour either but does take the decision making out of colour choice :rotfl:

Leave the door stained oak and have the window frames sprayed to suit.
