Magazine freebies

Probally just me but is anyone else vaguely annoyed by the freebies that come with monthy mags. Well the freebies are useful, vest tops, flip flops, bags etc but they all come inside tightly sealed plastic bags so you cant see what is inside the magazine and wether its worth buying,ie what offers, coupons, competitions, draws and vouchers etc are in the magazine.

Yes I agree, but now I have subscribed to the 3 for £1 so I cannot complain really! Already received my first Prima!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I'll move this over to the vent board

Better to have a freebie intact than one that people can steal because it isn't sealed in! :eek:Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early

I guess you just can't win ... you attach the freebie to the front loosely and somebody steals it or it falls off and people complain; you attach it more tightly with sellotape and people complain that they can't get it off without ripping the cover; so you secure the magazine and freebie into a bag so that they can not be separated and people still complain.
Since I have seen complaints no matter what magazines do the easiest solution is to find out what YOUR suggestion to address this is?

It's not the magazine freebies that irritate me but the men that stand reading the magazines in WHSmith and then look at you as if you are doing something wrong if you try to get past them. It's like a library in there on saturdays and I regularly have to weave my way through the mens section to track down my sons basketball magazine
and then I have to apologise for disturbing them("whoops sorry was that your foot I just stood on, now you get back to your boats & bikes r us or whatever").0 -
Typical woman... on a Saturday they drag us out for shopping trips ... decide to try on some clothes for several hours and then complain because we stand there reading a magazine to stop ourselves dying from boredom.pippy wrote:It's not the magazine freebies that irritate me but the men that stand reading the magazines in WHSmith and then look at you as if you are doing something wrong if you try to get past them. Ivan,
Pippy probably does not take several hours to buy her clothes.Maybe she does not try them on.Selects the size and takes them home(of course she pays first).Only to bring them back if they don't fit. :eek:0 -
I'm the only one who just opens the packet and takes out the magazine then?

Why can't the front page of the mag be in the front of the bag... and the free gift at the back? There woould be advertising for the gift of course, but we could still see what the contents of the magazine are.0

Golden rule for any relationship husband/boyfriend/partner is never drag them out shopping for clothes for you but always give the option to come with you OR pay (it works for me everytime!)IvanOpinion wrote:Typical woman... on a Saturday they drag us out for shopping trips ... decide to try on some clothes for several hours and then complain because we stand there reading a magazine to stop ourselves dying from boredom.

Then everyones happy (except WHSmith cos it would be empty!)0
