I don’t tend to be that lucky so I’m weary of premium bonds. With 1.8% I’d get £165 a month. So would need a fair few prizes for that.
I haven't run the numbers myself but I'm pretty sure i read a statistical analysis that showed you'd be better off investing nearly all your money in a higher income account than PB's pay out on average (lets say for arguments sake 99.99% of them) and buying a handful of lottery tickets with the 0.01%, than putting 100% in PB's0 -

There is a big analysis tool on this site in the savings section. From what I’ve read, because I’m higher rate it’s pretty much a 50/50 chance that I’ll match the best easy access rate. So I could beat it if I get lucky, match it if I don’t, or make less if I’m super unlucky.0
