Simply selling something doesn't make you a business. If I sell, say, an old TV after buying a new one I'm not operating as a business and I would have consumer rights. If I was buying old TVs to resell I would be.

At this point I'm genuinely concerned about your lack of understanding of what constitutes a business.

Please don't be concerned. The world will keep on turning and the clocks will keep on ticking. My lack of knowledge shouldn't cause you concern, I'm not a commercial pilot asking for advice on how to land my Boeing.

I suppose that's something to be thankful for.

I was thinking the same about your dramatic response! It really put things in perspective. Have a good day!

Put it down to a bad business decision by not carrying out due diligence. Don't waste money on solicitors.

You are right. I'm just !!!!ed off.

It was a rushed late night decision after receiving all the kit to reship. Off working away early the next morning and I just had to get the package booked ready for collection the day after. Since opening our DHL import/export accounts we have had no issues.

I just find the lack of accountability borderline criminal.

Exactly this, you should really just see it as a learning curve and move on. Every day is a school day as they say.

You will wake up on Monday morning and get back to what you do best, this will be forgotten and life will move forward.

So have they refunded you the delivery charge or not? What's the partial refund?

Ultimately you're entitled to delivery costs back. You aren't entitled to extra for the time spent on this and certainly not for leaving a job to go to their office, which was your decision anyway. Even if you were a consumer you wouldn't be entitled to this.

Did you take out insurance on this package? Given that I'd imagine the value of the product isn't small I'd hope you did. You might be entitled to something extra then.
