Currys - Problem with printer cashback offer?

I've recently purchased a HP printer from Curry's. I ordered the printer on an one of their iPad's through their website (I could have done this at home, but I was there, and would probably forget when I got home) with a sales assistant in store.

When I got home, I realised I didn't receive any emails about it. So, a few days later, I call up customer services, and query it, and also ask if the printer is ready for collection in store. First problem was that I didn't have my order number, which I was told should have been printed out in store. After searching for my order from my name, it turns out I missed a letter out in my name in my email address (hence why I didn't receive the email). They also say it is ready for collection, and that the store can print me a receipt - so I thought no worries.

I turn up, it is not even in store - I give the benefit of the doubt, and ask if they can call me when it is in stock (as you cannot call up individual stores). Still no call after a few days (which should have been 1-2 working days), I go in when passing, and collect the printer, thankfully it had finally arrived.

I ask for a receipt, they say they are not able to do anything about it (not even change my email address), and that it doesn't matter because it is in the box. Get home - it is not in the box. So email customer support asking for them to send me one.

They reply saying that they will send one over asap. Over a month later, I still haven't received anything, despite emailing every week about it.

I have now missed out on the cashback offer that HP offer, and quite annoyed that I still haven't received a receipt for something I have purchased. The cashback had to be completed 30 days after purchased - I haven't got any details to enter in online.

Throughout the phone calls/emails, I have been very polite, and understand it is not the individual's on-the-phone's fault. I accept that I should have triple checked my email when entering it, but, I was told that I would be given a receipt by several methods and still no success. I've been waiting for other a month for a receipt...I bought the item on the 23rd of Sept, it is now November...

Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can do? Thank you.

    Who inputted the wrong details?
  • Despite this. Dont you think there shouldn’t be a way to change it. Plus they omitted several times to give me the receipt when they said they could have?

The initial mistake was yours and attempts to rectify that have failed .

No law that says someone should be responible for your actions bar you .

I might just end up returning the product, and seeing if I can get a new one. Thank you
