gas/ele.......price going up again

Options
Hi
I am with n power duel fuel and the prices keep going up,originally I was paying £20+ a month for each fuel now I am paying £35 gas and £44 ele (with £70 discount)
I am in the northwest and pay direct debit
I have changed a few times but the prices start off ok then increase
I have no idea how to read the statments, I have a kwh price which is 118.000p and 8.610p does anyone know of any cheaper suppliers in my area.

Thanks
Diane

If you give a vague, doesn't have to accurate, postcode, diane, I will look at Energyhelpline
Payments are better than nothing, tho kwh per year better. Payment figures could reflect money owing so not a lot of use in comparisons.
And is the 118.000p accurate. Gas is usually 2p to 3pence and electric for my region is 9p to 10p, so your 8.610 looks good. Direct debit and dual fuel is cheapest so you are in the right direction, and I take it you havn't E7.
Can you give the tariff name, will be in large print on the bill.

Have done a quick comparison on UK Power, Dianne, using a Liverpool postcode.
Sol8 Npower is cheapest in Liverpool, tho existing customers not allowed. BG and Scottish Power are next , you will save about £123 a year on click 4 and equiv.
Southern saving is £115 and they have a better service record.
Stress it was an unchecked effort, so send in your info. and we'll go from there.

Used Energyhelpline, Dianne, NPower Sol8 again tho worth ringing to see if you can get on it.
Next saving shows (with Energyhelpline )£104 BG and £101 Sc.Power and £95 with Southern.
Plus of course with Quidco a £50 cashback with BG/Sc Powr.
Also your electric consumption seems a little odd. 2000kwh more than the national average.

Similar situation to you, Dianne, tho solo.... my electric bill is half that of the gas bill. Ring them again ask for kwh figures for gas and electric.
The national average is supposed to be 3300 kwh for electric and some 20,000 kwh for gas. Pinch of salt with that.
  • I'm a happy bunny, I've just found out thanks Ken68 & Energyhelpline I'm already with the cheapest company in my area :D
