Stocks & Shares ISA dividends

My shares in my ISA sometimes pay dividends in cash; when I held shares in certificate form years ago, I used to get dividends paid in extra shares.
I this posible with an online ISA with Hargreaves Landsdown?

Sort of - you can achieve much the same effect by setting your HL ISA to reinvest dividends.

I did think of that, but is it done direct, without any fees/charges?

Only a few company shares have the option of payment of dividends as extra shares (scrip dividends). Most don’t and the number that do is decreasing. I don’t know but suspect that none of the standard diy platforms support this. If you reinvest cash dividends you will be charged both stamp duty and transaction fees though the latter are reduced on some platforms.

Typical dividend reinvestment charge seems to be £1.50 , compared to around £10 for a normal trade.

With HL it's 1% (min £1, max £10) so not bad compared to the usual £11.95 plus of course stamp duty
