Morning all! olive trees [baby ones] planted yesterday along with a couple of hebes, arch taken down and thrown out on the back patio thing. Chopped down the fennel and put the lot in the green bin, I've got packets of the seeds so it just looked untidy. Also dug up a few of the ornage hawkweed plants, they were colonising a corner I didn't want them to. The almost tasteless sage bushes were also ruthlessly chopped back. They're both purple sage and they really don't seem to have much flavour. I put a normal green one in earlier this year, hopefully that'll make up for it.
We also went to see the terminator film [using up some vouchers], so good! Definitely the one that should have been made, lots of references to the original, the second and had funny bits.
Cat is sparked out on the sofa, was talking to another neighbour, he makes his home in two more houses than I already knew about. Doesn't change much really, I think we're still the go to neighbours when she wants to find out where he is. Now I can point her in a few different directions...
Not much in plans for today. Still feeling grumpy and out of sorts after doc visit...I don't want to be thinking about stuff, I want to be doing so I don't have to think.

That's awful csarina, such a shock and anger is understandable but no one goes out thinking well, I must make sure I don't get robbed today, so don't you go being angry with yourself. nanny, glad youre with us, in spirit if not in writing...hope they figure out what's wrong soon! Hester, enjoy the respite from cooking massive lots of food! redruby, sign of the times. No one wants to stop and help, it's just anger that things are stopping THEM from getting on....Hello individualistic society...well done you! TA, glad you enjoyed the show and had fun, enjoy shopping, watch your purse! AOD, don't look at the news, it'll just depress and anger you...stick with the garden and the work...am I allowed to ask what it is if it's not confiential? Speky, have a great weekend! 10 no spend days is more than I usually manage...hey to everyone reading along, hope you're OK...fed up friday.

  • Afternoon all. Still wet and miserable here, depressing weather all round. Got the shopping done and put away (the worst bit) and by then it was lunchtime. Cheese toasties and soup for the girls, soup and a ham salad bagel for me.

CSARINA I had my bag stolen some years ago and swore blind I would do my best to make sure I never made it easy for anyone to do it again. I have never let thoughts of it rule my life but I have never set foot out of the house since without a cross over bag on. It feels so much safer.

Just another hour and the girls will be off my hands! As much as I love having them it's a relief when I can wave them off and enjoy a couple of days peace before they are back again!

    Take care all xx

Scarlett - the weather forecast for Glasgow is awful all weekend.

The delivery company sent me a text with a 'delivery window' for later this afternoon so I headed into town after all as VM couldn't close the account over the phone. It only took minutes so I indulged in a free coffee and biscuit in the VM lounge before heading home. Went to M&S on the way for another box of the tiny wee cakes and some other stuff. Meanwhile the rain just hammered down. It's not as cold as earlier in the week.

TA - I'm so glad to hear about the theatre visit. Some shows can be seen more than once as so much goes on.

I gave up on cross body bags ages ago - they just didn't hold enough, banged around my hip and I found them very uncomfortable. I use a fairly small over shoulder bag which tucks under my armpit very snugly so I can hold it tight to me. Each to their own.

Now it's coffee and TV time. I recorded Midsomer Murder the other night so will catch up on it.
  • Gers, yes, great niece whatsapped us all earlier to say the weather was terrible and set to continue!! It's awful here as well, I'm taking my big coat, warmth and comfort come before looks.
I should think we'll be indoors a lot, catching up on the family news.

Redruby, that poor woman - just as well you were there.

Glad you had a good night at the theatre TA
