How to end mortgage and make ex leave

My partner has a mortgage 30% shared ownership property solely in his name. His ex and children still live in the property and she has stopped paying the rent. He can’t afford to continue paying this long term plus maintenance and live so is looking to sell the property but despite offering her a large money incentive to leave she is refusing what can he do?

stop the maintenance and just pay the rent in leui
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

They weren’t married, child maintenance service won’t take into account mortgage payments so he has to pay both plus tent

If he cant afford it he'll have to stop wont he?

Presumably his kids will end up in a B&B.

I would stop paying the mortgage and just pay the maintenance.
She will then have to make a choice either leave and take the settlement he is offering or becoming homeless
He should not let his ex continue to hold him hostage: children or not.
  • I’m looking for some constructive advice please. He left 4 years ago and continues to pay mortgage and maintenance but she has stopped paying the rent which he is liable for as it’s in his name. He has offered her a large sum of money to leave but we can’t go on forever in this situation.

Pay the maintenance, default on the mortgage and allow the property to be sold. The ex needs to come around to a compromise.

    Thank you socajam

Yes you are looking for constructive advice, but it's either one or the other.
Your partner is allowing his ex to hold him hostage and he will eventually have to make a decision either now or in the near future.
Which is it going to be. Sit back and allow live rent free until it suits her to move on to another sucker.
He need to take the bull by the horn and do what is right for him. Pay his maintenance and get stop paying the mortgage.
She will soon wake up when she realizes that the house will be repossessed. She is nothing but a bully and the only way to stick it to them is to stand up for yourself.
Pay his maintenance as he have to and leave the rest to run its course.
