Previous home insurance cancellation, and need to renew.

Just a little under 12 months ago, I taken out Contents Insurance with Lloyds Bank. Everything was fine (paying my monthly installments by direct Debit), until July where I'd had a couple of months off work through sickness. Because the Direct Debits wasn't paid, Lloyds cancelled my policy.

Now, I'm trying to renew my insurance with another broker. But because my insurance was cancelled by Lloyds, I'm having a tough time trying to find someone who will insure me that will let me pay by monthly installments. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can do this for me?

I don't earn a great deal, so monthly installments makes life so much easier for me.

Thanks in advance.
