UC50 form extension?

I cannot get the forum search to work so my apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I've often seen mentioned that one should always ask for an extension for the PIP form and that they automatically grant it. Does the same apply to a UC50 form? Mine arrived yesterday so I don't have a *need* for an extension so far, I was just wondering.

No, I don't believe it does.

However for claimants with depression, and other mental health conditions the DWP will exercise discretion (at least for ESA50 forms - so I would assume the same applies to a UC50).
I've heard that due to the post room / backlog / etc delays the DWP are now automatically granting the 14 day PIP2 extension. Has anyone else heard this?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
Thank you. My only potential issue is getting an appointment with a benefit advisor to check it once I've filled it in, but I suppose that's not essential.
[I'd actually forgotten the CAB had those online tips so your link was extra useful by reminding me, thanks!

I think the only thing you can do is write in the section of the form that asks if it is being returned late and for what reason. I have heard of a recent case where it was returned late and all benefits were stopped. It really isn't worth the risk.0

Yes. I have rung to extend PIP return times recently and each time have been told that a 14 day extension has already been applied. Frustrating when you've been waiting 30mins to get through to someone !!0
