Trying won't cost me anything ...only sending some letters ...the only costs will be the solicitor ...other then that I can do all the drawings and the planning submission . So ..good luck to me

The other question is, will the land owners mind another development in their back yard?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I got my eye on more then 30 plots so fingers crossed , I suppose the one that will contact me after receiving my letter is the one that is willing to accept my terms and ready to receive some cash .The other question is, will the land owners mind another development in their back yard?0

We have these letters regularly.
Of course the developers plan on buying our back garden along with the neighbours to create one larger plot.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I know what you mean but I am looking to buy isolated plots ...and make a single dwelling .
For example 149 Alicia Gradens HA3 8JD has the same plot as 118 Kingshill Avenue HA3 8LB ..only that the second one sold his garden and VOILA ... a big house has been made there ..nothing impossible.0 -

With respect, throwing 30 balls in the air (sending letters) and keeping your fingers crossed isn't much of a business strategy.
If you wanted to be taken seriously by the homeowners, you may need a more professional approach, perhaps by employing an agent to represent you. If English is not your first language, then a poorly worded letter may do more harm than good and you may well miss a good opportunity.
Don't forget, you have an enormous amount of competition in this field.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
The important thing here is to remember that you're asking the vendor to massively devalue their house. Not only will it not have a garden, but it will be overlooked - and there'll be a year of building work.
Your best bet may well be to actually buy the house plus garden. Then it's yours, you have the chaos, you factor the devaluation in. You run a small building company - well, great, you're on site, too.0 -
