In filling a porch and planning permission

I tried to ask my local planning office this question but they wouldn't speak to me, so I'll ask on here.
I already have a porch on the front of my house and would like to infill it with one side wall and a new front door. The other side wall is the garage wall.
Would I need planning permission for this?
I know you can build a porch, no more than 3 m2, under permitted development, but like I said, I've already have a porch, which is bigger than this.

If it is bigger than 3 square metres, you will need planning permission.

It might be a tick box exercise but even if it currently has a roof, it does not have walls.

It does have walls, but only two walls and is defined as a porch as it stands now.

They will speak to you, just not for free.

You either go ahead and spend a few years worrying that someone will drop you in it, or you go down the formal route.

How popular do you think you are with neighbours and is your idea of a tasteful addition similar to theirs?

Yeah, that is my problem, paying to speak to a council planning officer for advice that was free not that long ago.

On the issue of the neighbours, I seem to set the trend round here. They all end up copying my ideas sooner or later!:)

Had my 3.5 sq metre porch enclosed on two sides enclosed 30 years ago and many of my neighbours have done the same and had other building work done later that needed permission but none for the porches.
