UK Hols and Theatre

We’re struggling at the moment with the huge volumes of messages we’re getting from Forumites about coronavirus and the impact it’s having on their finances. We’re a small team and we’re doing our best to manage this spike in demand.

It’s an exceptionally tough time for the holiday, travel and events industry, and we are swamped with questions about your consumer rights around cancelled concerts, flights, hotels, theatre shows etc.

We’re a small team and we want to make sure Forumites are getting the answers they need accurately and quickly. So for the time being, we are hitting pause on this board and redirecting everyone to the MSE coronavirus guides that contain all the info we have – these guides are being constantly updated:
Coronavirus Help & Your Rights * Coronavirus Travel Rights

And of course, we have the Coronavirus Boards on the forum:
Coronavirus Support & Help * Coronavirus Travel Help & Info

Coronavirus: The latest from MSE

The MSE team is working extremely hard to keep the info we have about your travel rights, cancellation rights, sick pay (and more) up to date.

Activity Superstore - False Advertising - Rip off

Activity Superstore are an utter disgrace and a rip off company.
They refused to honour the treatments (massage, facial, eyebrow shape or nail file) I’d paid for and were stipulated on my voucher. New treatments to replace facial and eyebrow shape are leg massage or hand and arm massage.....nothing even similar to a facial or eyebrow shape.
On validating the voucher I did get a message about no facial available but because it was such a long complicated drawn out process I didn’t think it applied to my voucher (I’d paid for a facial) I decided to proceed so I didn’t make a mistake and thought I’d sort it once I’d completed the voucher validation. One complication I called Ballantyne only to be told that a facial and eyebrow shape has never been available on this voucher and it should never have been advertised as such. I contacted AS (0371 3841025) and was told by two member of staff a supervisor and told the manager had also agreed with what I was being told.
Well to cut a long story short, I was advised I couldn’t have a refund, even though Ballantyne were willing to cancel my appointment and they wouldn’t allow me the facial and eyebrow treatment (even though Ballantyne still offered them) but I could exchange it for another voucher (example given by Operator was Bungee jumping). I will be writing to the CEO Mrs Vicki Foster and taking this to trading standards in due course. HOW THE HELL CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH!!!
