Hello, we are looking to put some acoustic insulation between our noisy kitchen/dining room and bedroom in the ceiling/floor. Has anyone got any recommendations of what to use please??

I would put something like dense rockwool batts between the joists; the densest and thickest that the space would allow. For example (quick google search):

Wickes had some very dense insulation, which I have used successfully. However, I'm not sure if they still do it.
For the upstairs floors, I put in an extra layer of timber, so the dense insulation rests on that.
You can also get dense "soundbloc" plasterboard. I haven't used this, but it's really heavy and if you tap it, there is a clear difference to the ordinary stuff. That will be used on my next wall upgrade.
Plus loads of other products.0 -
"Soundboard" plasterboard. Very heavy and expensive stuff, we used it plus rockwool to soundproof the party wall from noisy neighbours.0

You can also get a Rockwool RW3 product that is 60kg m3 density so would give better acoustics.0
