You want to buy a car, but its road tax already expires?
Could you pls explain if there is any problem and what I should do in this situation?
I want to buy a car from a local dealer. On their website, I noticed that some of their cars have their road tax expired already.
Does it indicate any problem?
If not, what will I need to do if I buy such a car from the dealer?
My sincere thanks for your explanation.

It is not a problem.
You will have to buy new road tax when you buy a car, whether it is taxed at the moment or not, as road tax is cancelled on the change of keeper.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

Thank you so much for your replies so far.
There is another thing. When I check the insurance details, one car came up as "This vehicle is NOT showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today".
In this situation, I will make a part-exchange.
So if I want to buy such a car, does it mean I need to tell my insurance provider to transfer the details to the new car, before I can drive it home?
Thank you0 -
Of course the car needs to be insured in your name from the date of collection, if you already have insurance you contact the insurance company and tell them date of exchange of vehicle and they will change the cover to the new vehicle on that day.0
