Making him the perfect man to kick his wonderful ideas into the long grass to avoid FTSE 100 companies upping sticks en masse, wrecking the economy and investment and guaranteeing the loss of his ministerial car in five years.

When McDonnell sets up an independent commission to conduct a full review into how we can increase the common man's stake in the economy with full cost benefit analysis of a wide ranging list of options with input from all key stakeholders, you couldn't possibly accuse of him of kicking the revolution into the long grass. After all, it was all his idea.

If Labour wins the election under McDonnell they'll do a Syriza. If they won an election under Milne they'd do a Venezuela. The second however is not plausible. Labour winning an election indicates that McDonnell won the internal party battle and controls Corbyn's strings. If Milne wins control Labour will be too busy fighting itself to win an election or get its manifesto through Parliament. Kremlinology for Dummies is available from all good bookshops.

This reads as if you are trying to hypnotize yourself into believing that nothing bad will ever happen. I tend to believe Corbyn and McDonnell when they spell out their plans again and again and again. Assuming they have the power to do that, of course.

I think people suffer just because they don't know what is going on. I was hearing the other day about a man who needed a knee replacement and was in great pain. He had seen the surgeon and kept waiting for his date. It was now nearly two years. He had never thought of going private. Just trusted the NHS. Labour had strict waiting list times so this would never happen. The Tories just quietly abandoned them. Some people know the Tories are in and they are supposed to pay privately. Some people just don't understand the system.

We need to be clear that whatever we say about the Blair/Brown governments has nothing to do with the Corbyn government. It’s a different party now. Just like Tories have little to do with Wilson and Liberals are no longer Lloyd George’s Party.

Parties transform and those in charge of Labour today wouldn’t have been allowed within a mile of government 10 years ago.

What happens when uncle Donald comes for the nhs ,

    Thank you for this.
The last the people of the United Kingdom wants is for the vultures of American businesses to get their greedy hands on the NHS.
If you think Labour is bad, just let the greedy Americans through the door of the NHS, they will strip everything that is of value and leave just the bare flooring boards.
If people think that bankruptcy is high now, let the greedy Americans in.
I just hope all the people rise up and no to the Americans taking over the NHS because all of us money or not will be the losers.

I think you'll find it the same as most organisations in this country where assigning such stereotypes to the USA is tolerated if not actively encouraged. Other groups/nations are somewhat more protected.

Whatever happens, it would be worth it to remove the self serving tories, bumbling Boris the buffoon and have a fairer society for all.

With the company he keeps ...

For the Jihadi, not the Jew.
  • That’s unfair. Particularly this week when the man is grieving. When is the wreath holding ceremony in Syria?

back onto the non party political facts:

    - The planned utilities nationalisation together with the reallocation of shares to workers would knock 20% off Pension values

    - Higher rate tac relief would go.

    - Taxes would go up for many people, not just the rich.

If you are retired, with your pension and mortgage free, then good luck to you. If not and you are working, it's not going to be much fun. I am not rich by means but am taking action to protect what assets I have in case Corbyn gets in via the SNP.

Ahem.... I think you will find that Tories contemporaneous with Lord (Harold) Wilson had little to do with him as he was a Labour politician.
