hi,
i have a canon pixma 4000 printer which has now decided not to allow the paper to load when asked to print . it makes all the right noises but the paper is not feeding through .
does anyone think its easy to fix or should i just give up on it and replace it as it has also had problems with ink leakage ?
thanks

Our Pixma 4000 went funny but I got lucky - found that unplugging it from the mains for a while then plugging back in seemed to reset it back to normal.
You could also try doing a tray clean, the one where it asks you to put a piece of paper in with a crease along the centre. This might force the paper feed to operate.0 -
If it needs to be repaired I doubt if it would be worth it given the cost of new printers. You could always try dismantling it yourself and see if you can spot the problem.
If you're looking for a replacement I've just ordered a Canon MP210 from amazon, £45 but Canon are doing £20 cashback on it until 24/12/07.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

It is worth trying to fix it as this model is one of the last made by canon before they started to chip their carts. the ip4000 is highly sought after for this very reason.0
