Can you claim to be a carer for 2 people?

Hi,
My wife is planning to claim CA for looking after her elderly mother but I think she should also claim for my disabled son. Can she claim benefits as a carer for 2 people? (The mother doesn't live with us)

    You can only claim Carer's Allowance once, no matter how many people you look after.

    If mother lives alone and is in receipt of a disability benefit she might be entitled to other means tested help which could be higher if no one gets CA for looking after her. In that case it would be better for your wife to claim as a carer for your son rather than her mother.
