Static caravan site and electricity price hike
Please can anyone help, I don’t know where to look. We get our bill on site every six months. Just got last one, with 58% increase in unit cost. No warning at all. Queried with site. All they can say is, you’ve had it good for last few years. That might be true, but doesn’t help. I don’t even know which electricity company they use. Surely we have some rights but I don’t know where to go for information on static caravan sites.

No idea, forums specific to static sites of actual static owner/users would be a start. Individually metered/or/other ?

Have a read of this which should give you some idea of whats legal and whats not. Are you metered, if so you should be able to separate out the cost of the energy from any maintenance or service charges. But in general, the reseller cannot charge you more than he pays for it

Thank you for your replies. Sorry it’s been such a long time since I have used these fora that I have forgotten how to use properly, and also the proper etiquette. I don’t think that the site is profiting from selling us the electricity, more that they could have kept cost down by shopping around for supplier and also giving some warning that the price was going to go up. They must’ve known for at least six months, but kept it secret 😬0
