I have bought three new Honda cars for cash from two different main dealers and both of them would only accept a CC for the deposit.

I've rang 4 "main" dealers (arnold clark etc) and they all accept CC's.
Now to find a long 0% one.

    To pay the full amount?

I asked them all if they accepted CC to pay the full amount and they all said yes. Maybe this is because it's Scotland? I really don't know but I am having no problem finding dealers that take CC.

Thge question of if the card will be accepted appears to have sidetracked from the original question.
You won't get 36 months 0% on purchases. Such a long period does not exist.https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/best-0-credit-cards/

I too can say I've asked about paying for the last three cars on CC, and all dealers would only allow a deposit on CC - £1000 each time.

    That's my experience too.
They also had limits for cash (£2,500) and debit card (£5,000) from memory.
They were forcing me down the 'bank transfer 2 days before' route!

Although the finance company were very happy to accept a circa £13K debit card payment a few days later. Well, I say very happy...i'm sure they'd have rather had their 10.9% APR interest over 3 years instead!
