Morning all! A day of pootling stole the word sorry!] and doing some mooching with sister. We will go to an outlet village and have a wander. It's never the clothes shops I end up sending ages in, it's the kitchen shops. They're so shiny....I'm like a kitchen magpie.
Put up my shelf last night before re-doing the Sunday-Monday dinner. All spice jars happily sat on there now, but there are a couple of duplicates so will have to go through them properly and also put them alphabetically....
Right, shower and change and out we go!
Enjoy the menu perusal TA, hope OH is not too grouchy csarina. Mehefin, well, that's great news for you and the widowed lady. She won't replace Brusiemare, just sit next to her...Gers, result! Hester, sounds enetertaining and busy! camelot, put a couple of portions in the freezer? AOD, hope it settles down. Cwtches for all....[nanny?] Tidying Tuesday...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Taff you can pootle with me, it is a word I've always used. Don't know if it is a real word.
Speky it has been years since I had a root canal treatment and the one that's acting up hasn't been root filled. I might change dentists after this lot but although I would have to pay for root treatment I would not have to pay for the crown. Obviously changing now would be a bad idea because if i did and needed the treatment, id be oaying for the entire thing. hoping to avoid more treatment though.
Mehefin, that sounds like fate. You can't ever replace your Bruisemare but perhaps the other mare is somehow meant to be yours. Are you near enough for the lady to visit?
It is nice and breezy here so I'm doing several small loads of washing rather than waiting to make up full loads, by which time it will, inevitably, be pouring again.
Hester, that's a lot of puddings!I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
The contractors have been and gone. Dry rot found in the joist! Now it's a waiting game for the Factor / contractor to make plans for the repair work. Nothing this side of Christmas.
The blokes were brilliant. Clean, tidy and professional. Everything has been put back in place, including the laminate. DM is now worrying ahead whilst I am now destressed. :j
I've burnt the fennel so had to pick out the black bits. :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon chums started of damp and rainy ,brightened up for an hour now back to rain again, looking very dak and gloomy at the moment ,but at least its not too cold ,just a thicker cardi for me I think.
made a big box of sausage rolls for DGS Mikey to devour and dug a block of mince from the freezer and defrosted it and made youngest DD her favourite Lasagne and for the eldest her favourite cottage pie so family are all sorted for a dinner and I am just about to have a mushroom omelette, off to the pub tonight for quiz night so dinner will be there as it comes in with the price of the quiz so no cooking for me tonight .I have left over mash for tomorrow nights meal in the fridge through so will find something to go with it tomorrow from the freezer.
Let the dogs out for Dd so they are happy as well . almost the end of the month its just whizzing by at the moment
Its youngest DDs 50th birthday in December and I have been plotting with my son-in-law and he is taking her down to the IoW on the 27th for three days on their own just after Christmas and I shall stay at home feeding and refereeing the remaining 4 DGSI am so pleased as I know how much she loves the Island and she hasn't a clue what's going on She actually finishes work on Christmas Eve until 4th january so it will be nice for her and Simon to have a few days just the two of them and the two little dogs just pottering around without her having to stress about cooking or feeding the boys She keeps trying to find out what her present is but I am keeping schtum
I will also give her some cash to treat herself to something while she is down there as well. She is a good lass and has been a rock to me since we lost her much adored Dad in 2003 bless her and she is such a hard grafter, and always puts the children first so it will be lovely not for her to have to think about anything but relaxing.
I have five birthdays in the immediate family before we get to Christmas !! so I will have to get my thinking cap on I think
Hope everyone is warm and dry and <<hugs to those who are in need
Take care chums

Afternoon folks. After a morning of chatting, drinking coffee and then lunch I now have my feet up doing nothing (not even pootling!) Coffee and my book for the rest of the afternoon methinks.
On route to the bus station DF and I called in at the bargain grocery and frozen food shop and picked up some bargains. They were selling the 350 cal ice cream (cookies and cream variety) at £1 a tub and in the SM it's around £3.50. (I only know this as DD zooms in on it when it's on offer as she won't fork out the full price!) I am not an ice cream fan myself but I got 4 tubs for her and they are stowed away in the freezer till she gets back from the 'van.
Eldest DGD is coming back from the van today as she doesn't want to miss the Tuesday club she goes to. She texted first to ask me if it was ok for her to sleep here afterwards. So I will have company tonight which will be nice as these long dark evenings seem endless on my own. I am looking forward to the GBBO final tonight even though it's almost a cert that Steph will win. I'd prefer David but I get the impression Paul H doesn't like him so he's probably out of the running.
MEHEFIN the offer of the horse was meant to be and has just come at the right time. Bruisemare can never be replaced as her memory will live on in your hearts.
Enjoy the rest of the day folks if you can and take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
