Condensation - Envirovent ATMOS PIV System

Hi All,

We shifted in our new house in end of August and now have started to notice that with the weather change the double glazed windows have water dripping on the window sill in almost all the rooms upstairs. (windows also have water vapors on the glass)

Same situation downstairs in the living/ dining and hallway and landing (bit better)

I called a rep from the Envirovent and they quoted me with money back guarantee that the condensation will disappear in few days after installing of

ATMOS (SF-DP-EVL-H - Damp Proofer Loft Mounted
unit with Heater, a whole house ventilation
systemin the loft )

Cyclone7 SF-CYC-230V - Centrifugal, low
energy, re-cyclable extract fan with central
cartridge

(For these two supply and fit they will charge £1000 including VAT)

We already have SILENT 100HT installed in the bathroom and also using a Delonghi dehumidifier . We empty 1.5 water tank approx every day so its a lot of moisture in the AIR.

Any idea about the effectiveness of this unit/ its effectiveness

OR

Any other suggestion for eliminating/ reducing condensation.

Thanks in advance.

To supply and fit these items the quote is reasonable, but I doubt the Cyclone7 will produce much more of a difference than the Silent 100HT. They are both humidistat controlled extract fans. The Cyclone7 modulates the fan speed based on how wet the air is. Whereas the Silent 100HT is either on full if the air is wet or off if it is dry. The Cyclone7 should save you electricity, but won't change the humidity in your home.

A PIV is a common solution for high humidity. They do work, but you can make a lot of difference by heating and ventilating your home properly. Most homes with a condensation problem are not heated well enough to allow the ventilation that is fitted to exhaust the damp air before it condenses on the cold surfaces.

The fact they are offering a money-back guarantee suggests they are pretty certain a PIV system will sort your problem out.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Any chance you have a gas hob? When burning gas turns into CO2+H20. Always use extractor fan of change to electric.

    Drying your laundry indoors? STOP.

Don't leave your bathroom door open until it's dry.

Just think where these 1.5L of water come from.
