Also they have sent me a letter reagarding the car, saying they have added a £75 trace fee for finding a current address for me when i provided them with over the telephone, so they havent really had to trace me, as i gave them the address over the phone when they asked0

If the car was towed, the police should know about it.

i have received a letter from the police yesterday whihc seems to be a standard letter informing me of the crime ref number
, looks like thats all there going to do, it is really awkward for me to contact the CAB at the moment due to me working 8:30 till 5:30 mon - fri, and to book an appointment i would have to take a day off work which with christmas approaching may be very hard

I think we can all understand that. However, could you not take a packed lunch in on Monday, eat it during your short breaks and try to make the call to CAB during your lunch hour (break)?
Was the car parked on the public highway when it was towed? If so, I might be worth contacting your old local council. If it wasn't taxed, then they may have received a compaint and had it towed? Check the council's website for the number to call.0 -
