Had a really long drawn out process (there have been
Issues) our buyer with Barclays got an email on Friday to say yes they will lend, they would notify his solicitor.
Its took 5 weeks to get the ok and 17 weeks before that, so much so our on going purchase pulled out on us an remarketed the house. A week later we got the news from the buyer direct (woo hoo) how ever it hasnt reached the solicitors yet.
Our purchase wont take it off the market ‘sstc’ until solicitors can confirm what our buyer is saying.
How long from getting an email from Barclays does it take for notification to get to his solicitor? Im assuming it will be in the ‘post’ but just like an idea of how much longer we will be waiting.
Thanks

A conveyancing solicitor might have dozens of active conveyances, which they deal with in sequence. So it may take a few days for the solicitor to act on any info they receive from Barclays.
The best plan might be for your buyer to ask Barclays when and how the info was sent by them. Then the buyer phones their solicitor and says "Barclays sent the info yesterday, so you should have it today, and it's urgent, so can you deal with it asap."0 -
Barclays have a secure mail system where previously registered solicitors can have the offer emailed to them. I only try get this done when there is urgency in the transaction. Otherwise it will take about 3 days from when it was issued to it getting to the firm. How long it takes to make it to the desk of the case handler is a question we cant answer0
