Which wire?

Hi, At some point in the future I intend to install an electric gate (got a more important project on at the moment) but as I've got a digger coming I thought I'd lay the cable for the electrics now.
Got 1.5mm armoured cable for that but the gate will also need some sort of communication to the house for when visitors arrive.
At the moment I've not really decided if it will be a simple door bell (easy wiring) or a 2-way intercom or even video intercom.
What wire is it best to lay to keep options open or do I really need to decide now?
P.S. It's about a 25mtr run to the entry point of house plus whatever routing in the house I do
Thanks

I'd get some 20mm plastic conduit from Wickes, and glue it together with a nylon draw rope installed. You might want to only install the straight section at the moment. (Glue a cap on each end to keep water out.)0

Do you already have a gate actuator in mind? and if so, what is the maximum current that it will draw?
Bear in mind that if the gate gets jammed or becomes stiff to move due to things such as corrosion on the hinges, icing up etc, the current drawn could well rise considerably so you will have to take this into account when choosing the power cable.0 -
Possibly some 4/6 core alarm cableANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0

If there is a chance armoured needs to be put in, I'd go for something much bigger - 40mm pipe would be better, and also 25mm conduit a minimum of 150mm away for any comms or control wiring. Separating the two will reduce the risk of mains borne interference causing problems.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Thanks guys - guess conduit is the way to go. I was going to strap the cables together to keep them in one place but seeing your comment Freebear , i'll put them either side of the trench
Cheers all0
