Paid for 1 item....they sent 6

Hi all,
Have looked around online but would appreciate some more concrete advice on this.
I recently ordered a single item from zoom.co.uk, for which they charged me the correct amount. However on arrival, they appear to have sent me 6 of the same
item (when I only ordered one) and not charged me for the extra quantities. This happened over 2 weeks ago and they haven't been in touch with me. I therefore have 5 additional
items for which I have no use.
Am I free to do what I want with these, or is there some procedure I should follow to cover myself?
Thanks
Luke

The procedure is you message them and tell them theyve made a mistake.
Anything else is theft. You cannot 'cover yourself'0 -
In practice, what you should do probably depends on the value of the items in question.0
-
Why do you expect them to contact you?
It is obviously a mistake in the packing department.
Contact them and ask them to collect them.
Chances are they may just tell you to keep them depending on the value as it may not be worth their while to bother collecting them.0 -

Oh yes there's procedure!
1) You keep hold of the item, looking after it for SIX years, as that is how long they have to chase you for the item or the cost of it.
2) You send them a letter saying that unless they arrange collection, you are going to sell the items. You then wait, and send them another letter stating exactly the same. If no response after a certain amount of time, you can then sell the items!
Don't get too excited though. You have to keep hold of the money for six years, or send it to them straight away! Plus, you have to sell the items for market value, not mates rates!
3) You do the easiest thing, drop them an email/phone call, tell them about the error and ask them to arrange collection.0
