Understanding Survey traffic lights

I've had a home buyer survey done on a house and am confused In some of the sections labelled with a green "1", it seems to be suggesting that work needed to be done, EG:
Then there's an amber 2 section about a missing skirting board?
the gable walls have not been restrained to the roof structure with galvanised metal brackets....would be prudent for a competent contractor to be instructed to install restraint straps to provide resistance...

I presume the first one is just a suggested improvement, rather than a defect as such, while an obviously missing skirting board is something most people would regard as a necessary repair.
If in doubt, speak to the surveyor.0 -
I'd agree with David though it does seem odd as on the face of it the former, whilst perhaps not urgently required, is more significant than something as cosmetic as the latter.0

Addition of strapping would be 'prudent,' but as you've given us no clues about how long it's been absent, it's hard to gauge how prudent! If it ain't broke etc...but we are having more storms due to climate changes.
It's a dead easy thing to do anyway. I'd Google around the subject and find some examples to guide me and then do it myself.
They're bits of (in this case) right angled, galvanised steel that are secured to the main roof timbers and the wall underneath with heavy duty screws. Anyone with a good drill and a modicum of agility/common sense can attach them.0 -

It's been like that for about 30 years. Other houses on the estate probably have the same "problem". Of course, surveyors for the other houses might have used exactly the same words but put them in a red "3" section - which might have got it fixed(My username is not related to my real name)0
