Solicitor errors delayed completion

I feel like OP is getting a slightly cool reception here on this one. If everything’s as they’ve said then someone (either solicitor or people at HtB) has made a huge mistake. If OP had been in a chain then the consequences could have been huge financially.
OP - I’d be absolutely fuming if it were me but priority now has to be making sure completion happens on the revised date.
Keep a list of all the costs you incur as a result, such as rearranged removals and your salary for the unpaid day you now have to take. I’d start the complaint with the solicitor as it’s their responsibly to make sure everything is in place for completion. I’d also be asking for a goodwill gesture on top of the actual costs given the severity of the mistake, but I wouldn’t hold my breath to get anything.
Once complete and the complaint is resolved (costs recovered) I’d then be leaving bad reviews on Google/Facebook/anywhere else they have an online presence.0
