Am I being ripped off?

Hi, I have recently had some work done on my house by a building company who were also overseeing plastering, electrical work, plumbing and tiling. When we recieved the quote it said that we needed to supply the bathroom suite and tiles, but that fitting and tiling were included.

After the tiling was completed, i was sent an invoice for tile adhesive, grout and trim.

The initial quote simply said we were to supply tiles. Is this right? Should I have been charged for this? We didn't buy the electricians wiring for him or buy the plumbers pipe, so should I be in charge of paying for tiling supplies?

Did you supply the adhesive grout and trim?
  • It sounds like you were given a labour only price for the tiling, therefore it would be reasonable to expect to pay for all materials.

If we quote to tile we usually include misc materials such as those mentioned and customer supplies tiles (does not really help you though)
