Company Car Interior repair
Hi,
I am due a new company car shortly but I don’t know what to do with my current company car, it has a few cigarette burns at the corner of the roof, should I see if this can be fixed before I hand my old one in? Or just don’t mention it when they come and pick this car up?

How is a burn mark going to be repaired?
No one is supposed to be smoking in a works vehicle.0 -

The smell will alert them.Hi,

The smell? I don’t think they would go all detective about the smell lol, I was just asking if it is worth repairing?0

The burn mark is relatively straightforward to repair - "smart" trim repairs are common.

The smell is far more likely to harm the used value of the car, and be far more invasive and expensive to remove.
The industry standard fair wear and tear guide includes this...Passenger area, seats, headrests and trim
The interior upholstery and trim must be clean and odourless with no burns, scratches, tears or staining
So, yes, the lease firm will be well within their rights to charge for cleaning to remove the odour. As a smoker, you almost certainly don't realise quite how bad it is.
Oh, and remember that your company car is your workplace, so smoking within it is illegal.0 -

The permanent sole use, with no other employee ever going in the vehicle. The employer is also liable to prosecution. It's allowed if the vehicle is for the sole use of one employee.
