Advice on buying from DIY kitchens

Hi all,

We're in the process of renovating our kitchen and after lots of research I'm fairly set on DIY kitchens. However, has anyone had experience ordering a kitchen from there if you live in a flat (not ground floor)?

I live in a 2nd floor flat with no lift, and I noticed their delivery service is only ground floor. Has this caused a problem for anyone before? We have a garage we can store the units but the access to the garage is via a narrow path (only just big enough for a large car, but probably not a big van).

My brother is going to be installing our kitchen, so we dont really have any builders to help out.

The alternative is getting a flat packed kitchen from ikea, but they their range of unit sizes isn't as good. I'd prefer to go for DIY kitchens, but just not sure if it's going to be a big hassle!

There are 3 standards of delivery. The Bronze £75 service is delivery to kerbside and needs you to supply 2 people to offload the kitchen to wherever you need it. The Silver and Gold services supply people to off load and carry the kitchen, up/down no more than 6 steps and a maximum 20 metres walking distance. If your garage is less than 20 metres, they should carry it there for you. If it's over, you need to would up some able-bodied folk to help.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • They come already assembled as far as I know so as long as you have a friend you can always carry them to your garage
