Sounds like your Tech Team needs a kick up the backside. Isn't this the sort of thing that your manager should be taking up for you with the Tech Team management?
Alternatively, get to know the regs in your spare time, so that you can become indispensable and make a case for more pay in a specialist role.0 -

We have tried but Tech team get lumped with other stuff that gets in the way. Blame management for that one...
