Toilets with Sink Above - Are they any good?

They are very common in Japan where the cistern fills with cold water through the bowl on top. I don't like them, but I do like the heated seats and bottom flushing gadgets they attach to them :rotfl:Signature on holiday for two weeks0

I put one in my downstairs loo becuase there was no space for a sink (it previously did not have one).
Other than being a pain to fit no issues. Yes it's a compromise, but keeps people out of the kitchen!0 -
I had one fitted in a downstairs loo...looked pretty...but it wasn't practical.
nice idea but for us it didn't work .in S 38 T 2 F 50

Hideous and impractical things, imho
In our cottage we also have a tiny ground floor cloakroom which we're about to fit, but no way would I be choosing a loo with basin above. As other posters have said, there are alternative heating options that wouldn't compromise the aesthetics of the space.......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I think they are cold water only aren't they? Otherwise you could wash your hair while sitting on the loo.0

Oh no! I put a really long reply last night and it's not posted!
Sorry for the delay in replying but the roof started leaking (!) so all hell broke loose.
I really appreciate all of your advice and input, I think it's swayed me into taking back the radiator to the shop and looking at underfloor heating instead, with a separate loo and nicer small sink to replace the one we have. The space is 1.7m x 0.79m with a 2.7m ceiling so it is tiny.
I'm not familiar with underfloor heating and am a bit worried about the running cost but it seems a really sensible option for our situation. It would have to be electric as it's a concrete floor and we've changed our minds about the radiator in the adjacent room now a toilet/sink combi is out of the picture, this means there would be no heating pipework near the downstairs loo at all. But I'm thinking the cost involved setting up to fit wet heating would make it less economical long term than cheaper electric heating and slightly higher bills. It's just fear of the unknown I think!
Thanks so much again for helping me straighten my thoughts out! I'm not very logical with this kind of thing and dread making expensive mistakes, and so your advice is all really appreciated.
