Recently had a letter from Barclays advising that from January 2020 it's customers will no longer be able to withdraw cash from Post Offices with their Debit Card
It appears that this letter is only being sent to customers who have a history of useing the Post Office to get cash - I have an account and have never used it at the PO, wife also has an account and does draw cash from PO - I don't have a letter and wife does
There is is an ATM in our village, but as the wife says, it's a brave person who stands in the street counting a fistful of £20 notes to check the ATM payout, whilst the PO counts the money to you and in notes of your chosen denomination.
This affects all Barclay customers - You may not have used the PO for cash up to now, but it's likely that one day with no ATM in sight and a PO is the only option, they will refuse your card

Old news, already been threads on here and an MSE article.
Have to ask, who actually stands and counts money at an atm? What are you going to do if it is wrong? First thing I do is get it out of sight.0 -
Didnt they announce a U turn on this the other day?0

I always count my money at the ATM in order to be sure it's been correctly dispensed. I keep standing in front of it until the money is counted and put away. For larger sums I'd use an ATM in a safe location, but either way I'd make sure it was correctly dispensed before I walked away! I agree there's not much you can do if it has been incorrectly dispensed, but at least then I'd know about it.

Looks like Barclays has backflipped on this.0 -
Old news. Also, why not count money at the ATM? I thought you rural folks lived in a crime-free idyll, not like us pod-dwelling urban chumps!: )0

I think you dropped an 'i' in your title somewhere on the way in your title lol
I usually go inside the bank and draw cash from the ATM.0 -
Most people don't withdraw 'fistfulls' of cash. They use credit and debit cards.0
