  • I do a job in which i have to go to court several times a year. I sit in the public gallery and watch many of the cases come and go. I don't wish to seem like i'm getting enjoyment from other peoples misery but it can be entertaining, frustrating and emotional just like your average episode of eastenders. You see a broad spectrum of people from the persistant petty criminals to murderers and the normal honest chap that made one mistake while drunk. I urge you all, to next time you have a day spare(not often i know) to go to your local court and see for your selfs. At my local court you can just wander in and out of any court room as much as you like at any time during the precedings. Talk to the usher and tell them youv'e come to see what happens at your local court, they'll be helpful and might even direct you to the most interesting cases. I was terrified the first time i had to go to court(for work) but by going along you will learn that they are not as scary a place as you think, and as pointed out above debt cases are heard in private in the judges office. I owe money to many companies including egg and am on a DMP so i'm not gloating but hope you will all go for a look to see for your selfs.

Let me know if you do go and what you thought.
Its time to nut up or shut up......!
