    Morning all,
Just lost a big post as I was looking at the end of yesterdays thread, then started replying, realised it was going to go on yesterdays, tried to alter it,pressed something and away it went into the ether
I may be going out with DS2 and DGD later, not quite sure about his plans yet but he and his dad are only working half a day today, they can't do any more until the foundations of a new extension are concreted.
I decided to have some me time yesterday afternoon and made some cards which I'm quite pleased with.Makes our bedroom a bit messy though ...

    Morning Everyone,

Looking forward to a long weekend as no work today. I am going to make my Christmas cake, using a different recipe, so I hope it turns out ok. I like to use brandy and then feed it weekly until icing time.

Will need to do a wash and use my heated airer

My DD is stopping tomorrow night - not seen her for a few months, so looking forward her visit.

    Have a good Friday x

  • Expecting rain, lots of it according to the forecast.

OH has decided to sort out the paper work in the cupboard in our bedroom, I suspect there is a lot of stuff in there that can be scrapped, I have already sorted through one pule and put a load through the shredder.

Towels washed, started to rain so put them in the dryer....all done and dusted.

Ruby, sorry to hear that your Drs appointment was rubbish, we are so lucky here. The town practice is always getting slated, last I heard someone rang for a phone consultation and was told it would be 2 weeks before a Dr could phone them. You cannot see a Dr the same day. You have to wait at least 2 weeks for a booked appointment.

Our practice is by no means small, it covers a wide area, but you can go to open surgery every morning. Drs appointments are easy to get, and if you ask for a phone consultation the Dr rings after surgery. They have just appointed a Dr who just does home visits......we have a lot of elderly people in the villages who cannot easily get to the Drs surgery. I dread the thought of having to move back into town if I have to.

Fish and chips for supper. banana for dessert.

I don't have baby grand daughter today as I usually have her every Friday while her Mum works upstairs on her laptop so I slept in till 9 a.m. and feel quite decadent. She had a lovely holiday with her Mum and Dad and they are driving back home this morning. They offered to bring lunch tomorrow as they would like to pop in but I said I would provide lunch as I wanted to use stuff from the freezer and they just could bring salad. Planning a chicken and veg tray bake with sausages and mash as an alternative and might have two other dds and a fiance coming as well but they will let me know by tonight.

    RR

I am so sorry the doctor could not offer anything to help. Would a podiarist or private foot clinic be an idea?

    Gers

Well done on sorting out the freezer and ordering meals to restock it.

Sending positive thoughts and vibes to dumpling.

Weather forecast is very wet with a yellow alert for today and tomorrow so plan to use some of my wonky veg box to make a chicken soup in the pressure king pro for later. Just realised I have not had lunch and only had a banana for breakfast so planning either an omelette or bacon and egg with more hot coffee. I keep making hot drinks and then forget them for a while and they go cold.

A parcel is being delivered for a dd so I am staying within earshot and glad to have the excuse not to go out.

    Hugs to all

  • Afternoon folks - I have been a bit miserable this week and didn't want to come on with moaning posts every day.

My visit to the Vascular surgeon for the MRI result wasn't good. As I already half expected there are blockages causing the pain but unfortunately not anywhere stents could be inserted. The only other alternative would be a dangerous and lengthy op if I was in danger of losing a leg! (He assures me that I am not!) The damage has been caused by all my years battling high BP and Cholesterol and hereditary issues. So I just have to grin and bear it but NOT give in to it. Exercise, as painful as it is, will help he says. Anyway, there are far worse ailments I could be suffering from and for that I have to be thankful.

The plumbing problems are still ongoing. Super Mario finally sorted the toilet out on Tuesday so no more lugging buckets around to "flush" it. I don't know who was more fed up, me or him! The shower still refuses to churn out any water and he is baffled with that. It could turn out a big job so he is returning early next week to try and sort that out. I do have the bath fortunately, in the meantime, but I much prefer the convenience of a shower.

The girlies were all here for sleepover and after they had been dispatched to school I gave myself a good talking to! Must have worked cos then 2 nice things happened! The postman brought me a letter saying HMRC owed me £398 as I have paid too much tax! Most welcome! Then the window man finally rang with a date for doing the couple of windows they are replacing. Still another 3 weeks to wait but they did warn me they were busy and I could have to wait 6 - 8 weeks!

We have finally been hit with the promised rain so the washing is adorning the back (warmest) bedroom. It's due to carry on all day tomorrow too. Then a day of sun! Being half term next week DD was hoping to have a few days at the caravan with the DGDs before the site closes early November. Rather them than me!

I have just read back and was relieved to see another follow up from DUMPLING, You keep fighting my lovely girl. MEHEFIN so sorry to read your news. Our animals become part of the family and it's heartbreaking when we lose one. REDRUBY I hope something can be done to help your pain.

Take care all and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. xx

    Evening all.

Lovely to see you again TA. Sorry the news isn't brilliant.

The community dentist came, both she hand her nurse were lovely. They'll come back next week to do the descaling, other than that DM's remains teeth are fine.

I've been emailing cleaning companies about doing work whilst the usual one is off. Think I've settled on one which has reasonable costs. One company wanted to do a deep clean before starting, charging £100 for it and the £60 for two hours every fortnight. My eyes began to bleed when I read that.

The new order for W iltshire has been phoned through so that'll come on Wednesday. My work today is done.

Nice to see you TA and what Gers said ^
Would massage help as well? We're all here for you anyway even if you did want to moan...:)Sister is not here yet, traffic is poo on a friday and she left very late.
Cushion delivered, stocking up shelves and food re-shuffled, will have to put another shelf up under my two wall cupboards for the spices because there's no room for them now...Had to throw out a packet of choco leibnitz because they went out of date in January this year, no problem I thought, they should be OK, opened them, they were white instead of milk chocolate...!!!!!!...

Car didn't get cleaned, new contact is in, much clearer in the distance than the old, and washing up is done...now for a coffee while I wait....
