How much usually to fix scratches dents etc...
Hi all -
I have a black Toyota RAV4 that I quite like, drives my kids around but isn't used to pick up single women. I didn't pay much for it and have been rather careless since I bought it earlier this year. I have accumulated the usual dents against walls, rocks, and today had a minor accident on the road (we both pulled in the same lane at low speed and the car got further scratched).
Long story short - I have plenty of dents and scratches (nothing major), but about 6-10 all over the body of my car. Do bodyshops charge per scratch here in London? How much should I expect to pay? If it's less than 200 I'll go ahead and fix it, if it's going to be much more I'll leave it as is and just drive this car for another 7 years before the government takes away my right to drive petrol cars.

You'd be better finding a dent master / smart repairer type rather than going to a body shop. A body shop will be looking for around £200 a panel to paint it.0

Ive used Chips Away in the past they were cheaper than a body shop and di a good good try Googling your local 1 and get a quote0

Every time I've gone to a Chips Away or quivalent with a tiny scratch, I've always had the response, after the obligatory teeth sucking and head shaking, "gonna need resprayed and blended in mate. And it's really hard to match that paint. 300 quid".
If it really is "dents against walls and rocks" it's not going to be cheap.0 -
If you aren't too bothered get some filler and a couple of rattle cans and blow over the damaged areas. Then polish up when well dried.0
-
OP, if the scratches aren't too deep, try doing a clean, T-Cut, Polish, yourself. My 10 year old fiesta has numerous scratches, dents etc. caused by other drivers, but I've just left them.0

OP.....how about driving/parking with a bit more care0

OP use motorguys advice
Search online local spray painters.
I saved myself a few quid and got excellent job done during 2018 Clio Bulb/scratch.
Sprayway advised over tel that they couldn't guarantee exact Colour match which I avoided.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -

The movie "death proof" by Tarantino comes to mind :rotfl:
Really not bothered about the look so deffo will give what you guys have advised a go and avoid the car shop all together given the cost some of you mentioned.
Thanks a lot for the tips everyone!
And sure I can drive a bit more prudently, but part of the fun of having an older car is not having to worry about it too much no? I also share the car with my wife :A0
