Barclays Premier

I’ve recently seen an offer for 25,000 Avios in switching to Barclays Premier. I’ve got a standard account with them currently. I do meet the eligibility criteria so am thinking of applying.
Are there any benefits to this account or any disadvantages?
I’m not interested in leaving Barclays at present - they provide me with good service and are one of the few banks with a branch in my town.

Go to Barclays website and read the information there about this product.

Only you can know if it is suitable for you.
To clarify. You use the term switching. As you already have a Barclays account this will not be a 'switch'.
Never realised Barclays gave avios though.0 -
Yeah seems like a one off offer

I don’t think I’ll lose anything by changing to the Premier account as it seems it’s fee-free.0 -
Also worth reading the post on Head for Points: https://www.headforpoints.com/2019/10/24/25000-avios-for-opening-a-barclays-premier-acccount/
But yeah, it's a switching campaign, can't do anything with an existing Barclays account.
Worth seeing if existing Premier customers get the £75 BA voucher.0 -
Ah yes I wouldn’t benefit from the offer as I’d be upgrading from a normal Barclays account. Shame. Probably won’t bother as the account doesn’t seem to have many benefits without the Avios.0

You could upgrade to Premier, open a sacrificial account elsewhere, and immediately switch that to qualify?
In addition to the Avios you could potentially also get the triple Blue Rewards for a year.
In terms of other benefits? Few and far between to be honest. Free English Heritage membership, discounts via Picturehouse and Gourmet Society, other seasonal freebies and competitions. UK based call centre. Higher ATM limit with the black Premier card. Slightly enhanced rates on some fixed savings products, still not best buys even then though. Bear in mind this is a fee free account so there is a logical limit to the complementary services they can provide. The Avios and Rewards may make it worth your time, though.: )0
