Others will give more precise info I'm sure, but the nice thing about buying in Scotland is that your solicitor is working for you and will give you help and guidance every step of the way - including how much to offer, if it's actually a good idea to offer (when trying to buy my first flat, my solicitor talked me out of it as there were communal repairs required that I had underestimated the severity of, and I remain grateful) as well as the process once your offer has been accepted. Try to get a recommendation for an individual, not just a firm of solicitors.0
