Account with two debit cards? (for shopping)

Actually, that could work - genius!A simple way around this is to get a Curve card (in your name), this allows you both to use the same debit card at the same time.
OP would use the actual debit card.
The partner would use the Curve card, which can be linked to the OP's card.
OP can manage/monitor the Curve card through the Curve app.
So physically, each has a card, which draws against the same bank account, and there is no financial association. Exactly what they wanted.0 -

The downside is that it breaks Curve's terms and conditions:7.1. It is your responsibility to keep all of your Account information, your Card and your device used to access Curve Account safe. You must:

7.1.2. keep your Personal Security Credentials (such as PIN) and Curve Card safe and not let anyone else know them or use them.
That's probably not an issue in the real world though.
As I mentioned earlier, I have a join Monzo account. It doesn't appear on my credit files and hasn't created a financial link between myself and the other account holder.0
